Getting Started
How do I sign up as a makeup artist?
Go to the sign-up page and choose the Artist role. Complete your profile — bio, location, specialisms, services with pricing, and portfolio photos. Your listing goes live immediately; there is no approval queue.
Do I need an account to browse artists?
No. Anyone can browse artist profiles and portfolios without registering. You only need an account when you want to send a message to an artist or confirm a booking.
Bookings
How does booking work?
Open an artist's profile and click 'Book now'. Choose your service, pick an available date from their calendar, review the total, and pay securely via Stripe. You'll get an instant confirmation email and the artist is notified straight away.
Can I reschedule or cancel a booking?
Visit 'My Bookings' in your account dashboard to manage existing bookings. Cancellation refunds depend on the individual artist's cancellation policy — check their profile before booking. We recommend reaching out to the artist as early as possible.
How do I update my availability as an artist?
Log in to your Artist Dashboard and go to the Availability section. You can block out dates, set recurring unavailable days, or mark specific time slots as unavailable. Changes take effect immediately for any new booking requests.
Payments & Pro
How do payments work?
All payments are processed securely by Stripe. MyMua takes a 10% platform fee at checkout; artists receive the remaining 90% directly into their connected Stripe account. MyMua never stores your full card number or CVV.
When do artists receive their payout?
Funds transfer to your Stripe account on Stripe's standard payout schedule — typically 2–7 business days after a booking is confirmed. You can monitor all payouts in your Stripe Express dashboard.
How do I cancel my Pro subscription?
Go to your Artist Dashboard → Settings → Subscription and click 'Cancel subscription'. Your Pro benefits — including your Pro badge and boosted placement — remain active until the end of your current billing period. You won't be charged again after cancelling.
Refunds & Issues
How do I request a refund?
If an artist cancels your booking, a full refund is issued automatically within 5–10 business days. For all other refund requests, contact the artist directly through MyMua messages first. If the issue remains unresolved, email support@mymua.net with your booking reference and we'll investigate.
What if an artist doesn't show up?
If an artist fails to attend a confirmed booking without prior cancellation, you are entitled to a full refund. Email support@mymua.net as soon as possible with your booking reference number and any supporting details.
How do I report a problem with a booking or user?
Use the 'Report' option on the relevant artist profile or booking page, or email support@mymua.net with full details. We take all reports seriously and aim to respond within one business day.
